The Heart of the Family is Home
I’m glad to be here. I’m constantly looking for something new and diverting, but sometimes I’m so involved in getting stuff done for the family that I don’t get a chance to exercise my creative muscles.
How about you? Are you restless for a little change?
We’re probably a lot alike - I mean, I have a busy life - family, work, chores etc. But seriously - doesn’t it all get a little BORING at times? The routine, the schedules, the day-to-day stuff… one week starts to run into another and then we wonder - where did the time go?
I think the problem sometimes lies in focusing on the ‘what if…’ or ‘when I…’ factor. “What if I had more time to spend with my partner?” “When we’ve finished the deck we’ll entertain more” “What if we made more money?” “When the kids are older we can change things”.
The problem with that reasoning is that we live for the life we PLAN or WISH to have, rather than the life we DO have. Is your home (and family) suffering from the effects of ‘what if’ and ‘when we’? Do you feel depressed when you sit on your pet hair covered couch? Hate how your family disappears into different rooms and find your master bedroom more like a dungeon for undone laundry? Wish you had the money to update your home or time to organize it so it’s not so hard to live in? Does your house cause you to worry more about what NEEDS doing rather than being a space to enjoy your life and the family that calls it HOME?
If that sounds familar, than like me you wish you could enjoy the time you have at home with your family and friends a little more, and worry about the ‘what if’s’ and the ‘when we’s’ a little less.
With that in mind, I hope you’ll enjoy the following posts with quick and budget friendly ideas for making your home a place of enjoyment, peace and fun for yourself and your family, whether that includes kids, pets, extended family, or even just yourself occasionally!
I hope you like the suggestions and tell me your problem areas so we can discuss what really makes a house a home! Looking forward to meeting you all!
